It was July 2 2016 that the tragedy happened, the date is not  important, the date doesn't really matter, it could have been any date for that matter. The only reason that, that date has any significance or meaning to me is, that, it was on that day that my whole world changed and life as I knew it ended.

But July the 1st, is  just as important to me, because it was on that day, that the wheels started turning and everything was set in motion that would lead to the tragedy.

It was on a Friday afternoon at school, that my best friend Clara and I decided that we wanted to spend the weekend together. We wanted to have our very first sleep over. It would be the very first time that either of us, had ever spent a night away from home.

Now for you, that may not be a big deal, but for us it was a huge deal. Our other schoolmates were allowed to stay out late, to go to parties, the movies, and the mall anytime they wanted. They would always talk about all the exciting fun things they did, but Clara and I were never allowed to go out, except with our parents. While the other kids were out having fun, we were stuck at home emailing, texting, talking on the phone or communicating on social apps.

We decided that we would ask our parents if we could have a special one on one girl's weekend. Getting permission was not going to be easy. It was fourth period, we were on our way to lunch when I bought up the idea to Clara, she loved it.

After we dropped off our books at our lockers we headed to the cafeteria for lunch. We tried to think of different ways to convince our to let us have a sleepover. If we could find a way to convinced them, we would make it a weekend to remember. So we planed our the perfect weekend. For some it may not sound like much, but for the two of us it was going to be thrilling and exciting.

First we would ask Clara's mom to take us to the mall to pick some some new outfits, and accessories. We would have lunch at the food court, maybe take in a movie, and then do some window shopping. Maybe, we could go to the beach or the park for a quick stroll. After that we would go back to Clara's house and try on our new outfits.

We could polish our finger nails and our toe nails with the new sparkly, glittery finger nail polish we had bought last week. Then we would try the newest and latest hairstyles we had seen in the latest copy of teens week magazine. We would snap a few photos of ourselves posing in our new outfits and hairdo's so that we can remember this weekend for years to come.

And then to end the perfect weekend we would rent our favorite romantic movies and shows, slip into bed and watch them, while eating butter garlic flavored pop corn and butter scotch, French vanilla, almond cookie ice cream. We could catch up on all the latest juicy tidbits that have been floating around school.
