In a week or two, we'll look back on some of our worries and wonder what all the fuss was about.

Challenges will come and go, some will be mild and others will be moderate, but some will knock us flat on on butts. But somehow, we will manage to get through them all. Before long, we'll bounce back and be back on our feet again.

But there may come a time, when we may face very serious challenges, that can prove to be life changing moments. They are the moments that will tell us who, we really are, they will reveal our true nature and our true character, the side of us that we don't show to others, the side of us, that we try to keep hidden from others.

We are all three dimensional characters, there is more than one side to us, we all have more than one face. We have a public face and a private face. Our private face is our true face, the person we are beneath the surface. Our public face, is the one we show the public, it is openly exposed for everyone in the world to see, but our private face, remains concealed and tucked away deep inside us, like a secret hidden vault.

Inside our hidden vaults, is a chest that holds our most intimate secretes and desires, it is a secrete place, where we stash and pack away our most precious, personal, confidential dreams and wishes, that we keep guarded under lock and key, tucked away from prying and inquisitive eyes. But it is also the place where we burry our most painful memories, our darkest fears and the lingering doubts that continue to haunt us, it is the place where we burry our personal failures along with our most embarrassing moments that we don't want anyone else to know about.

One thing I've learned though each crisis and challenge that I've faced, is that we don't know ourselves as well as we think we do. We still have a lot to discover about ourselves. It takes real courage and honesty to be willing to take a good long hard look at ourselves to see ourselves for who we really are. But we must be willing to do so without blinders on and without bias eyes.

Many people will never discover who they truly are, for others it will take an entire lifetime. For some, self-awareness and self discovery will come too late, when they are old and gray, they will discover their true face and their true self just as runs out.

Unfortunately, it will take a major crisis or a tragedy to force some of us to wake up and open our eyes. Tragedies and crisis often have a way of revealing and exposing our true motives, our true character, our true selves, our true intentions, our true feelings and brining them to the surface, even the ones that we may be aware of. They are a time for self discover. Self discovery is probably the hardest challenged we will ever face.
