Rainbows, Diamonds

Butterflies and Angels

             Part 1

Rainbows, Diamonds, Butterflies and Angels

When you see those four words what comes to mind? At first glance they may appear to be just an odd combination of four random unrelated words bunched and strung together that have nothing inn common, but nothing could be further from the truth.

For me those are four very powerful magical words with super natural healing powers. They have a tremendous capacity to comfort and console the heart. What do I mean? You may be asking; What does Rainbows, Diamonds, Butterflies and Angels have in common?

First of all you have to understand the power of words. Words can make the difference between life and death, between hope and hopelessness, between success and failure. How many times, have you been touched by words that moved you and inspired you, words that made you laugh or made you cry?

How many times, have you heard the lyrics to a song or read a story that bought tears to your eyes or joy to your heart? How many times have you heard words that touched you so deeply that they have stayed with you even to this day? How many times, have you heard words that made you rethink and reflected on your life, or words that made you you fall in love, or that made your heart tingle. Words that lifted up your spirits, when you down in the dumps, in a stupor or discouraged.

Here are a few word phrases that helped me, how do they affect you, if they affect you at all; In life, it us not what happens to you that matters, it is how you respond and react to what happens that matters. In other words, it doesn't matter what happens in your life, what matters is, what you do next.

The way we see and face the problems, the challenges and the obstacles in our life depends on what we tell ourselves. There is a little voice inside our heads that tries to make sense of our lives and tries to make sense of the things that happens to us, it determines how we react and how we respond to the challenges we face.

That voice can have either a negative or positive impact or influence on our thoughts and actions, depending on what we were taught, how we were raised and what we believe in. For example; if that voice tells us that a problem is too big or too hard or that it cannot be solved, we will probably believe and accept what it tells us, even if it is not true. Then we will act and respond according to what the voice tells us.

It may try to convince us that we are not strong enough or smart enough or that we are going to fail. It may try to make us doubt our self. And even if we do fail at something, that doesn't make us a failure, the truth is, that, that voice is wrong.

The reason we fail sometimes, is not because we are not smart enough or strong enough, it is because we convinced our self that we weren't smart enough or strong enough, so we didn't try hard enough, we gave up too soon, or we didn't see it through to the end or worst yet, we didn't try at all, that, is the reason we failed. If we don't believe we can do something we will only make a half-hearted, mediocre attempt, and that is what leads to failure.

That little voice inside our heads tries to influence our thoughts, our thoughts  influences our decisions and actions, our actions determines the outcome we get. The words that we play over and over in our heads eventually becomes so deeply ingrained and imbedded in our hearts and our minds that they become habit, and habit determines the direction and the pattern of our life, whether it is positive or negative.

Listen to these quotes an tell me if you agree. Every negative though is a down payment on failure, every positive thought, is an investment in the future. For many, negative thinking is a habit, which in time, becomes an addiction. Once we replace negative thoughts with positive ones, we start getting positive results. a negative mind will never give you a positive life.

If you realized just how powerful your thoughts are, you would never think a negative thought again. Now I'd like to tell you a cute little story about a frog who tried to climb a tree. All the other frogs keep telling him that it was impossible, they said he could never do it. When the little frog climbed the tree, the other frogs were amazed and stunned. Do you know why, the little frog was able to climb the tree? The little frog was deaf, and he couldn't hear the other frogs, so he thought they were cheering him on.

Being positive doesn't mean that we ignore the negative things in our life, it means overcoming them. Here are some questions we can ask ourselves when we are have negative thoughts, they can help us to change our thought patterns and our habits.

Am I overreacting to the situation?   What are the positive lessons can I take away from this?  How is this making me better?  What can I do right now to make this situation a little better or what can I do that will make me feel better?

Try to find calm in all the chaos, stop over thinking things. Sometimes it's not always your situation that causes you to suffer it's your thoughts. Negative thoughts makes a bad situation worst. Every time we are tempted to react the same old way, ask yourself, do I want to remain a prisoner of my past, or do I want to be the pioneer of my future. What and who we are today, are the result of our memories and the thoughts of yesterday, our present thoughts, will create and build our tomorrow.

Our goal, is not to just get rid of our negative thoughts, it's to change them and change the way we respond to them. Don't let one bad day or one bad experience make you feel that you have a bad life. Bad experiences are there to remind us that there we have plenty of good days to look forward to.

You don't have to be positive and happy all the time, it's okay to feel sad, scared, and frustrated, having those feelings doesn't make you a negative person they make you human. Every situation has a up side and a down side, a positive and a negative side, it's up to you to choose which one we will see. Is the glass half empty, or half full? When a negative thought enters into your mind try to think of three positive thoughts.
