Rainbows, Diamonds

Butterflies and Angels

               part 2

Rainbows, Diamonds, Butterflies and Angels

Worrying too much about a situation leads to over thinking, which leads to finding problems that never existed in the first place. Having a negative thought is like having a flat tire, you can't go anywhere until you change it. The thoughts that you think, will color your day. Positive thinking is not just a tag line it actually changes the way we behave, which changes the results we get, negative or positive.

We can complain that roses have thorns or we can be thankful that thorns have roses. The main cause of our unhappiness is not the situation but our thoughts about the situation. They say that we have a certain finite limited number of heart beats, so why waste them on negative feelings, negative thoughts, or negative unproductive actions.

Do you know how they train elephants? They begin with a long thick chain, as time goes on they begin to shorten the chain before you know it, they're using a very flimsy string. It is not the flimsy string that restrains the huge elephant, it's his mind.

Patterns are learned and developed over time, and they become difficult to change, we have to break the cycle of the patterns in our lives once they are wired into our brains. They get stuck inside our heads and they hold us back. They make us second guess ourselves and  they sabotage our friendships and our relationships, they put up road blocks and walls where none exists except for in our minds.

We must learn how to make our minds work for us, instead of against us. When you find yourself thinking a negative though catch yourself, replace it with warm fond pleasurable memories. For example if someone you love dies, it will be very painful, it will leave a big whole in your heart and great empty void, now that they are no longer around, especially if their death was a hard one.

But try to remember all the loving warm memories you shared, and the joy they bought into your life, be thankful for the time you did spend together even though it will be hard to go on without them. Try to honor their memory, finish a project they were working on, let their love and their legacy live on through you, make their life mean something, never let the world forget that they existed. Do something meaningful in their honor, let their life inspire you, instead of depressing you and causing you great sadness and pain, is that how they would want to be remembered? Of course you'll miss them, but do you think they would want to be remembered for the love and happiness they bought you, or for the pain their death caused. Think of how they would want you to go on living, and about the good they bought into your life and how they inspired you.

Ask yourself are your thoughts helping your or hurting you? Your body reacts to your thoughts. You have to decide who you want to be, and then hold that image in front of yourself and then take the necessary actions to become that person. Try not to let your thoughts pull you down, change the negative thoughts in your head by questioning if they are really true. Refocus and reevaluate your life.

Never, ever forget that words have power. Words can be a powerful tool for good or evil, they can be positive or negative, they can paint beautiful vivid warm colorful pictures that brings joy and delight or they can be depressing. They can make us smile or they can make us cry.

Never underestimate the tremendous impact that words have in your life, they have the power to heal or to wound, they can tear down or they can build up. They can be a match that starts a fire or they can extinguish fires. They can bring pleasure or pain, they can move you and inspire you or they can drain you and suck the life out of you. They can lift our spirits out of a slump.

What would the world be like without words? If not for words how would we communicate our inner most and our most intimate feelings, thoughts, and ideas? How would we let others know how we feel about them or let them know what is deep within our hearts, out of sight of everyone.

The most important words are the words that we tell ourselves. They give us strength and courage or they can discourage us and make us feel powerless, helpless and hopeless, they can bring us down or lift us up. What we tell ourselves can sap our energy and our strength when we most need it.

When we keep repeating the same words and telling ourselves the same things over and over they get drummed into our heads and we start to believe them, and soon they become a part of us. They will determine how we react and behave when times are hard or when we face tragedies and catastrophes.

Words can cheer us up and kick start our lives and our faith, they can bolster and boost our confidence in ourselves. The right words will remind us that we have a million and one reasons why we should never give up no matter how bad things get. They remind us that there is always hope and solutions even when there doesn't seem to be any insight.
